The K-Pop industry is shaking up again! If you've been following the drama between Min Hee-jin and Hybe, you know it's been a rollercoaster. But the former ADOR CEO isn't slowing down. She's back with a new agency, OOAK Records, and has dropped some major news about her next project. Are you ready for the next big thing in K-Pop?
📌 Check Out Min Hee-jin’s Latest Updates Here Read the full details on her new agency and plans for the future.
A Fresh Start: One Of A Kind (OOAK) Records
Min Hee-jin, the creative mind behind NewJeans, recently appeared on a live broadcast to spill the tea on her future plans. She established her new agency, OOAK Records (One Of A Kind Records), last October, and the industry is already buzzing.
According to Min, investors from both Korea and overseas are lining up to support her new venture. It seems the market still has huge faith in her ability to create superstars. She’s looking to build a company where the artists and the agency genuinely need and support each other, moving away from the factory-like production system.
Why a Boy Group? And Why Now?
Here is the biggest surprise: Min Hee-jin is planning to debut a boy group first! 😲
Many fans expected another girl group, but she explicitly stated, "I have no plans to launch a girl group next." She believes there are specific gaps in the current market that she can fill with a boy group.
- Auditions are starting: She’s reportedly holding private auditions at famous dance academies this December.
- The Vision: She wants to "showcase something properly" by preparing in her own unique way.
If you loved the fresh vibe she brought to the girl group scene, imagine what she could do for a boy group in 2026!
The Legal Battle Continues
Of course, it’s not all smooth sailing yet. Min Hee-jin is still in a heated legal dispute with Hybe over a 26 billion KRW put option.
While Hybe claims her rights expired when the Shareholders Agreement was terminated, Min Hee-jin is fighting back, asserting her rights based on ADOR’s performance in 2022 and 2023. It’s a messy divorce, but it hasn't stopped her from moving forward with her creative vision.
What’s Next for K-Pop Fans?
2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year. With OOAK Records gearing up for a debut, we might see a shift in the boy group landscape just like we did with girl groups a few years ago.
