🌐 1. Can Foreigners Really Become K-Pop Idols?
Some programs accept international applicants. Check the current program name, application route, nationality, age and category restrictions before preparing materials. An artist’s background does not establish eligibility for another program.
Keep a copy of the exact notice and its checking date. If a restriction is unclear, ask the program’s official contact before paying for travel or recording services.
🗣️ 2. Do You Need to Speak Korean?
Check whether your chosen program specifies an application or interview language. The optional script below is practice material, not an agency requirement or a promise of language training or acceptance.
Sample Korean Self-Intro Script:
"안녕하세요! 저는 [이름]입니다. [나이]살이고 [국적]에서 왔습니다. K-Pop 아티스트가 되는 것이 저의 꿈입니다. 감사합니다!"
(Translation: "Hello! I am [Name]. I am [Age] years old and from [Country]. It is my dream to become a K-Pop artist. Thank you!")
📹 3. How to Record Your Audition Video
- •Lighting & Camera Angle: Follow the exact program notice for orientation and any restrictions on camera, filters or makeup. Record in lighting that keeps the required view visible.
- •Audio Clarity: Keep audio clear and check the category-specific accompaniment rule. Do not assume that backing tracks, MR or unaccompanied vocals are permitted for every route.
- •Framing: Follow the exact program notice for required views, orientation and duration. Check that your face or dance movements remain visible; photo requirements are not automatically video requirements.

4. Check sources before submitting or travelling
KOZ’s current instructions request a front-facing photo and one verse of unaccompanied vocals for the vocal category. Its rap and dance categories request one-minute recordings. These are KOZ examples, not rules for every agency. Follow your exact program’s current category instructions.
A trainee offer does not itself establish a visa category or approval. Entry and visa requirements depend on the planned activity and individual circumstances. Korea Visa Portal distinguishes Arts and Performances (E-6-1) from Hotel and Adult Entertainment (E-6-2). Neither category is an automatic permission for every trainee. Confirm with the relevant Korean consulate before travel or work; do not assume that visitor status permits training or paid activity.

Can foreigners apply?
